Skivvies are Lingerie?

OMG. "Strip down to your skivvies" to join the 'Lingerie is for Everyone' revolution. What a blast from the past. It must be over 40 years since I wore a skivvie, and then for a trip to the snow fields.

Here in Melbourne, Australia, we are in the middle of summer, so a vest/singlet is the best I could come up with.

Even though Melbourne is Australia's southernmost mainland capital city, it still has a 'mediterannean' climate. Although it is the middle of summer, we are in the middle of a 'la nina' event of a mixture of temperate (23C) wet days and hot (35C+) days. So a  skivvie is definitely not in my wardrobe.

PS: The 'Spoilt' nickers are part of a pair I custom printed - my LOP 'buddy' got a 'Spoiler' pair (she works at Spoilers Relaxation Centre).

PPS: "Skivvie" or "Skivvy" in Australia was a brand name for a knitted cotton, long sleeve, roll neck garment which could be worn as an under garment or outer. I'm not sure what other countries define as a "skivvie".

  1. I can imagine you walking around in your skivvies in that weather, but then of course wearing nothing else. Nice image :)

  3. Here in Canada, skivvies are a more generic term for underwear, and I loved learning the Aussie definition! And as for what counts, I think it's all fun and if we stretch the definition of lingerie, more people will find it fun and appealing to share that side of themselves in a supportive environment. So thanks for linking up! And send me some of that warm weather; currently -22C here ....

    1. Are you sure you want our heat? 31c tomorrow, 38c on Sunday, 41c on Monday. Might be a nickersoff day.
